Enjoy marathons? The Maui Oceanfront Marathon is schedule for January 22, 2012 and begins in Wailea and skirts the coastline concluding at the Kamehameha Iki Park in Lahaina.
There is a Half Marathon option that starts in Lahaina – A 15k run from Papalaua Beach and a 5k run from Lone Palm Point. Both of these conclude at Kamehameha Iki Park.

The sport of XTERRA was born on Maui in 1996, and after 15 years on Maui’s south shore, the XTERRA World Championship is headed north to the Kapalua, which will serve as base camp for off-road triathlon’s greatest day on October 23, 2011.
The XTERRA World Championship is the culmination of a national and international series of more than 90 qualifying events. In the United States, more than 50 races pave the way to the World Championship. Events around the world bring athletes from the XTERRA World Tour to compete at the world level.
For the past 14 years, this race has put athletes to the ultimate test of endurance and skill. The Maui course is notorious for its unforgiving terrain and stifling heat. Race day conditions can turn even the most seasoned pros into a pile of mush. The battle of human potential -vs- Mother Nature draws thousands to this spectacular venue every October.
Pro athletes compete for a $105,000 pro purse.
